Lemonade

Let's dive right in! We'll start with the most important part: a great tasting lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 4 & 3/4 cups Water

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 5-6 lemons (enough to make 1 cup of lemon juice

  • 1-2 oz of smalljoy Blackberry Bliss syrup

Instructions

  1. Make a simple syrup: In a saucepan, combine 3/4 cup water with 3/4 cup granulated sugar. Bring to a boil. Let granulated sugar disappear completely, liquid should be completely clear. Once liquid is clear, remove from heat and let it sit for 10 minutes.

  2. Squeeze the lemons: While the simple syrup is cooling, wash 5-6 lemons, and cut them in half. Squeeze the lemons into a measuring cup until you get to 1 cup of juice. Strain the juice into a pitcher.

  3. Combine: Add the other 4 cups of water into the pitcher, along with the cooled simple syrup, and stir.

  4. Serve: Fill up your favorite cup with ice, and pour the lemonade into the glass. Be sure to leave some room for the flavored syrup. Pour a dash of your smalljoy syrup of choice- a little goes a long way here. Let the syrup combine with the lemonade (hint: unmixed is best for photos), then stir the syrup with a straw or spoon.

  5. Enjoy: Take the lemonade on a walk around your neighborhood or to your favorite thrift store and remember to make joy a priority for you!

Tips for Storing

To ensure your homemade lemonade last as long as possible, follow these storage tips:

  • Use Clean Containers: Always store syrups in clean, airtight containers to prevent contamination.

  • Refrigerate: Keep the lemonade in a mason jar with an airtight lid in your fridge.

  • Label and Date: The lemonade lasts around 5-7 days if refregerated. We recommend not putting any ice into the storage container to avoid watering it down.
